This is one of my most favorite pictures of President Hinckley. It demonstrates his wonderful, purpose-filled life. I'm positive he never wasted a minute, never lost an opportunity to serve, lead, or teach. I am reminded of the quote he often cited from his father's letter he recieved while on his mission: "Gordon, forget yourself...and get to work." 
And that is just what he did.

He was such an amazing example. I'm not much of an optimist by nature, but President Hinckley sure made me want to try harder. When such an amazing individual asks you to "try a little harder to be a little better," there is nothing else on earth you'd rather do. I feel like we were all pretty lucky to have him as our President for so many years.
